The Gingerbread Man: cut, sequence colour and write about KS1
KS1 and Kindergarten
Activity based on The Gingerbread man.
Hand drawn pictures for children to cut out and colour the pictures then put the story back in the correct order and write about it.
Younger and support children can order the pictures. More able children can write about each picture.
Simple wordbank included.

Mary Anning Stone Girl Bone Girl: Cut, sequence, colour + write about the story
Resource for KS1 and Kindergarten.
Based on the story of Mary Anning: Stone Girl Bone Girl.
Hand drawn pictures for the children to cut out, sequence, write about and colour in.
To differentiate:
Support could cut out and sequence the pictures - I have included the answers at the end which could be given to children who need support so they can match the caption to the picture instead of writing.
Core children can sequence and use the word bank to also write about the pictures
More able children can sequence and write independently with given challenges such as ‘Include at least 3 time adverbials’
Sequencing activities usually take a few sessions.

For use with How Rabbit Stole the Fire.
This story board planner is best used when printed in A3.
Clear guidance is given at the top of each box for how to innovate each part of the story.
When I teach this unit, I brainstorm and model each part before I ask the children to record their own ideas.
I have included an innovation map, which the children can use if they are stuck for ideas. It might trigger their imagination!

*Please note that I have arranged the pictures in order already. This is mainly to help teachers. I usually ask the children to cut them out and then give them a little shuffle before they start sequencing to challenge themselves!
*On another note, the captions are numbered to help children to order the sentences after they have read them.
If you want to add extra challenge, black out the numbers before photocopying for the class so that they have to use the reading cues to sequence the captions!
