KS1 and Kindergarten For use with Jack and the Beanstalk. This story board planner is best used when printed in A3. Clear guidance is given at the top of each box for how to innovate each part of the story. When I teach this unit, I brainstorm and model each part before I ask the children to record their own ideas. I have included an innovation map, which the children can use if they are stuck for ideas. It might trigger their imagination!

This resource contains printable flashcards showing the different language equivalents of saying hello for 195 countries in alphabetical order. Each card features: the national flag, the official language spoken, how to say hello in that language, a map of the country which also stars the capital city, and the official animal! Encourage your children to learn the greetings from a range of different languages by picking a flash card a day/week and using that greeting to say hello. They can use clues from the flash card to find the country in a atlas or on a globe. Another idea is to use these flash cards on a classroom display with question to encourage the children to look closer, such as “How many countries have green in their flag? Which countries are they?”, “Make a list of all the countries that have French as their official language”, “Which countries have a fictional animal as their official animal?” and so on. Children can use them for improving their vocabulary, memory and general information.
