A selection of resources from my 17 year and counting PE teaching career, which have developed through many different experiences and curricula on 4 continents. Most recently, I have introduced the SL IB Diploma Program Sports Exercise and Health Science in its inaugural year in my school in South America, and I am currently doing the same with the Higher Level component in my current Central European adventure. Self/Peer Assessment Long Jump

A peer or self assessment resource for the Long Jump event, which is best used as an Assessment for Learning tool. It is also very useful to the teacher to assess students' knowledge of the event.

Best used when the performer is filmed on a tablet or mobile device by a partner. The sheet goes through the main teaching points of the jump shot for comparison with student performance. A great AfL task.

Colour By Exercise. Non-doer or Virtual PE Resource

(0)
4 printable colouring pages which make great resources for either distance learning in PE or for your non-doers in your class if they have forgotten their kit etc. Students work on their fine motor skills while colouring and their gross motor control while completing the exercises they must do before they change the colour. Great for 5-11 year olds in PE. Tried and tested!

Gymnastics Floor Sequence Task Cards / Evaluation Prompts

I use these with Grades 3-5 (Years 4-6). Could be used further up the school if that is when you start gymnastics. 3 Different assessments to offer continuity and progression through the Key Stage. The cards are used towards the end of the unit, after working on stepping, rolling, sliding and jumping actions. Students compose their own (G3), partner (G4) and partner or small groups using some partner and counter balances (G5). The task cards work great as a visual and also a reminder of the success criteria.

Team Building Games

Team Building Games

(1)
13 team building game task cards which I have used to great effect in PE lessons around the world to improve team cohesion and break physical boundaries. I normally use this in the first week of the year, when the kids have not got their routines and PE kits sorted. These activities can be used across the age range, from 7-16 years old. Some may be better for older kids, some younger... you decide! :-)

Striking and Fielding Interactive Assessment (great for Seesaw)

(0)
3 phases of learning can be assessed for conceptual knowledge in striking and fielding games through this interactive resource. Students move fielders and balls into positions to demonstrate their knowledge of how to limit space when fielding and take advantage of gaps in the field when batting. The third task is to get students to think about when it is appropriate to run or stay when running to score points. I used this with Grade 3, 4 and 5; scaffolding as we went (G5 does all 3 tasks, G3 only slide 1). I could also be used further up the school. I made this for use with Seesaw, but it could also be used in other applications or in Google Classroom. **Please note, there are 3 slides which get progressively more complex. The preview of this resource will only show you 2.

Tarsia Puzzle - Components of Fitness - Lesson Starter/Revision

(1)
A 10-15 minute lesson starter/short task to revise the Components of Fitness. Students cut out (or you can laminate and give them a full set) the triangles and match the components of fitness to their definition. This will create an overall shape, in this case an equilateral triangle (answers are shown). EXTENSION TASK - Students who finish quickly have to identify the missing component of fitness (Reaction Time) and write a definition of it.
