This is a short PowerPoint about El Día de los Muertos. This is intended for elementary students, but can be adapted to different levels. This was created to support my teaching and now I am sharing it with you. All the pictures and videos used in the PowerPoint were free resources found on the internet. Some of the suggested resources in the last slide are paid resources. You can edit the PowerPoint, change fonts, background colors and add more slides! The PowerPoint includes the link to create your own online Ofrenda on the Smithsonian Latino Center!

Some useful resources to revise “El Laberinto del Fauno”. In the first presentation, where the plot is summarized, you can copy and paste it, cut it into sections and give one part to each one of your students. They will need to read them aloud and find the correct order and recreate the story. The presentation about TRIO, it is a “feedback lessons” in which pupils can recognise their main mistakes and correct them.

This activity is intended to introduce students to the uses of “ser” and “estar” while incorporating cultural content about Día de Muertos.
