A complete revision lesson covering electromagnetic waves from AQA topic P6. It is suitable for both Trilogy and single science.
The lesson opens by reminding students about the order of EM waves and their properties and dangers. There are then a couple of question based activities. The lesson then looks at X-rays and radio waves in particular using exam questions to cover ideas that regularly come up on exams (dosage and communication). The lesson then moves on to required practical 21 which is investigating infrared radiation. This is covered in two ways- on concerning absorption and the other emission along with accompanying activities. The lesson closes with a reminder of the wave speed equation in the context of a ripple tank.

This is a complete lesson covering sections 6.4.1 d, e, f, g and h of the OCR Physics specification- the decay equation and half-life. It starts by introducing the decay equation with worked examples before outlining how dice simulation can be used to model nuclear decay. The lesson then moves to looking at activity as an alternative expression for the decay equation. Half-lives are then covered including how to calculate it and how to work it out form a graph. The lesson closes by looking at how age can be assessed using C-14 dating.

This is a complete lesson covering sections 6.5.1 a-g of the OCR Physics specification- medical imaging using X-rays. It starts by introducing an X-ray tube and explaining how they work. It then moves onto varying the intensity of X-ray beams and how they can be used to produce images. Attenuation is the next topic along with a series of calculations. The lesson closes with looking at CAT scans and how they differ from X-rays. Each section has questions including exam style questions.
