21 capacitors multiple choice questions for Physics A-level with student-friendly solutions.
Questions from the circular motion topic are available as a free sample
Also available 220 multiple choice question bundle for A-level physics second year topics
A simple and very interactive way to introduce distance-time graphs. Challenge students to act out each of four graphs as the timer moves across. You will need to mark out an 8m stretch of classroom for them to move along. I use a high score table adding each competitor in turn. Animated correct answers are supplied as well as an embedded worksheet - a fun consolidation task.
A complete lesson of notes and questions on combining resistors in series and parallel. Very carefully laid out slides - recapping from GCSE, deriving the series and parallel formulae, example calculations and a worksheet with answers provided.
An exemplar FREE Four in a Row game on Radioactivity is available to try before you buy.
Four in a Row games on six other physics topics are available individually from my shop or as a bundle at a greatly reduced price.
Four in a Row is a game for your whiteboard. Nothing needs to be printed or prepared to play this game. The game-play is somewhere between noughts and crosses and blockbusters. Two teams alternate, competing to correctly answer questions on the grid. The board is interactive - clicking tiles changes the colours and also reveals answers.
X-Rays in Medicine Four in a Row is designed primarily for the AQA GCSE Physics/ Combined Science course but may be useful elsewhere.
I use these twenty four quiz question with mini-whiteboards to gauge students learning on circuit components, units, current and voltage rules and Ohm's law. Aimed at GCSE level.
Use these questions with your brightest and best year 12 students to occupy and stretch them from the very beginning of the A level physics course.
The year 12 A level Physics Olympiad exams are in January and March every year. It’s tricky to start training students on challenging questions at the start of their A level studies as they haven’t covered much relevant content. The questions reproduced in this resource are suitable for the start of the A level physics course - the problem solving is tricky but builds on existing GCSE knowledge. Solutions are provided.
This lesson is used to introduce simple harmonic motion. A prior knowledge of circular motion or waves is not needed.
1 Matching pairs starter interactive game
2 Newton’s gravity train
3 Bouncy spring - table and sketch graphs
4 Question sheets
Exoplanets are very frequently in the news, they are fascinating. This lesson contains a short presentation followed by the (addictive) Planet Crash simulation game or an iPad app task. A really fun lesson - particularly useful for the end of term.
220 multiple choice questions for A-level physics second year topics. These questions have carefully presented student-friendly model solutions.
Questions from the circular motion topic are available as a free sample
Newton’s laws are presented using fun and memorable animated images including Wile-e-Coyote and Super Mario. Included here are notes, a multiple choice quiz, a worksheet to use with the pHet interactive and two other illustrative worksheets.
Originally used for a fantastic remote learning lesson for AQA A level Physics Engineering Moments of Inertia topic. Using these resources students will carry out a virtual practical to measure the moment of inertia of a flywheel. No teacher input required!
The pdf file allows students to independently master the underlying equations for the flywheel practical using an interactive book. In the second section of the lesson students take measurements of a flywheel from a YouTube clip to use with the equations.
A great lesson, very strongly recommended. After completion, students will be able to conduct the same practical independent of the teacher. A justified boast for a thorough and engaging lesson.
Performance will vary through different apps and platforms. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is optimal on “single page view”, Outlook and OneNote are inferior.
Also available as interactive eBooks;
GCSE Energy
GCSE Radioactivity
Young Modulus
Moments of Inertia
Flywheel Practical
pV graphs for Engineering
