I specialise in general science resources for KS3 and KS4 and biology for KS5. I try to make my resources suitable for non-specialists and teachers new to the subject, by including answers to any questions and full step-by-step explanations. I love flashcards and try to make a set for each unit I deliver. I am in the process of upgrading these to colour coded (differentiated) sets. All newly added resources will have a remote-learning version too (just in case :-))

Keyword lists, definitions and tests for the first three units of the Biology GCSE course. There are around 50 definitions for each unit. Created for the most able students aiming for grade 9 in separate science, these are easily tweaked for lower grades and combined students by removing some of the trickier definitions. I’ve used these for my bottom set by paring them right down to 15 definitions to concentrate on. I encourage my students to create a new flashcard each time they come across a new key term from the list and learn it for next lesson.

Most lessons have a literacy support document to support those students who find it difficult to write for sustained periods. Here are 47 double-sided flashcards for the Inheritance and Variation unit (print double-sided, flip on long edge). Each question card has the answer on the back. I have colour coded the cards (blue easiest / green harder, red hardest) so you can differentiate by only setting certain coloured cards for different students, or by asking students to learn them in order (bluest first) so they learn the basic information first.
