Phonics screening termly tracker sheet Year 1 and 2

This resource combines both Year 1 and 2 children to keep a record of phonics screening across the year. This can be broken up to be used separately in form classes of within a split 1/2 class. It sets out ‘practice’ screening dates and allows space for a target. This acts as a support for a phonics lead within the school for reference but for teachers to keep a record in one document as well as reference for teaching assistants.

This resources maps out the teaching sequence of all sounds from Nursery to Year 6. This has been made alongside jolly phonics and letters and sounds to incorporate both schemes within one. All learning is made by Year 4 and Year 5/6 are used as recap years. These are vital to ensure that the children are confident. This overview works with Nursery to Year 2 having daily phonics sessions and Year 3 - 6 having 2x3 sessions a week. This resource can be used to support reading and writing and can be edited to support EYFS to Year 6. This can also be used as an A4 sheet or as a A5 back to back mat. This is combination of letters and sounds and jolly phonics, as this is what I have found works across my current school. Also see the same Phonics frieze resource to use with in classrooms.

A bespoke phonics frieze containing all sounds and alternatives. I have combined both jolly phonics and letters and sounds to create this. I have embedded this across the school in all classrooms and lessons so all children are familiar these pictures to support sounds. Also see Phonics sound card resource - for use at tables.
