Complete lesson on changes in energy stores. Starter - Some true and false questions on Energy to address misconceptions Main - Intro to energy and the new 'stores' approach. Work through the different stores of energy, giving examples. The students then have a worksheet to complete. Energy transfers then discussed with a demo (as shown in the picture) and examples given. Students then move around a circus identifying energy stores and any transfers. Plenary - Three levelled questions (with markschemes) for students to answer

Complete lesson on energy and work Starter - Students think about work done without knowing what it is Main - Introduce work done, the formula, some worked examples, and then the students complete the worksheet (worksheet has rearranging opportunities), progress check as answers are on the slides. Then the students complete a short practical looking at how the number of elastic bands can affect the force needed to pull an object across the desk Plenary - Practical evaluation and link to a Kahoot! quiz

Complete lesson on energy and power. Starter - BoBs Big Five. Students answer 5 recap questions in the back of their books to review what they know so far, answers are included Main -Introduce power, the formula, how to rearrange it then an opportunity for students to test their own knowledge with a worksheet (answers included). Students then move around the room identifying different appliances, working out their powers in W as most are in kW, and then calculating the energy they use. Worksheet is differentiated and this is an activity using non-standard units (kW, mins, kJ etc), again answers are included Plenary - Bingo. students pick 9 values from the slides and then have to do calculations to clear their boards. All answers are in the notes.

Starter - Thinking tasks getting the students to think about half lives but without actually talking about them Main - Introduce a half life, then get the students to do a practical to get half life data which they plot, then calculate the half life. Plenary - Graph interpretation and exam questions

Starter - recap on decay equations Main - Again moving through alpha, beta and gamma but as a demo this time, adding information about ionisation power, penetration power and speed. Plenary - Students complete levelled question or exam questions

Starter - Students remembering information from last lesson, then a true and false quiz on radioactivity Main - Remind students about atomic and mass numbers, introduce isotopes, then a short worksheet to recap that information. Move on to the three types of decay and what happens in them, then a longer worksheet of increasing difficulty. All worksheets have answers Plenary - A couple more decay questions

Lesson works students through answering a question on the structure of the atom. They have 3 opportunities to answer the question with your added input in between each attempt. They then check their answers with the mark scheme, then go on to answer exam questions.
