Let's learn about... Social Networks. This is a FULLY resourced double lesson and includes a lesson plan to hand to anyone who has to pop in to observe! The lesson includes a progress path to show ideas at the start and at the end of the lesson, so progress can clearly be identified. Students learn what a Social Network is and then discuss the good and bad things of Social Networking sites. Higher ability students can then move to giving advice/solutions to avoid the bad things from being an issue. A short homework task is also included to complete the circle and ensure you don't need to do any planning at all!! This lesson includes EVERYTHING. Download, print and go. No alterations required. A single, well designed help sheet that guides students through the process of creating a movie using images they have saved on their work areas using Serif Movie Plus. This is IDEAL if you've got Serif Movie Plus installed on your network, but don't know quite how to use it! Give students this sheet and get them to work it out independently. I've had some great results from this, students loved it too. Great end of term fun activity if students can choose their own topic of movie. Enoy.

This resource REALLY cuts down on your marking workload and acts as an effective starter to a lesson once a piece of work/section of work has been marked/reviewed. Follow this process… Print this resource on A4 paper (or A3 if you’re going to write a lot). ‘Tick and Flick’ mark each piece of work/book for a whole class or particular group of students. As you’re going through, note your comments on the sheet within one of the sections below. Praise (What Went Well) Misconceptions/Common Errors Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar Even Better If Presentation DIRT Activity/Activities Once complete, photocopy a sheet for all students to glue into their books or attach to their work. In the following lesson, students should action the DIRT activity. You should also display this sheet (if scanned in) as a discussion point/starter. Your marking has been reduced… very effectively too! TIPS: Students LOVE to be named on this sheet, as everyone in the class gets a copy! Name particular students within the relevant sections of the marking tool sheet. Don’t use this for EVERY piece of marking you do! This is designed to reduce the marking you do, not obliterate it!
