A worksheet for GCSE Business or Level 2 BTEC Business students.
The worksheet can be used for revision or a cover lesson.
The worksheet contains:
A student self reflection activity to determine prior knowledge
A one page revision summary of key information for this topic
Five tasks for students to complete including:
a definition task
an internal / external sources of finance task
a matching activity to reinforce understanding of advantages and disadvantages of various sources of finance
a mini case study which requires students to write an email incorporating all they have learnt about the topic.
By the end of the worksheet students can:
Define all major sources of finance
Identify which sources are internal and external
Identify which sources of finance are short, medium or long term sources
Provide advantages and disadvantages for each main source of finance
Apply their knowledge to a case study
Make recommendations to a business to help them select the most appropriate source of finance.
The activity also includes the answer sheet for all five tasks.

Resources for a one hour lesson on Business Ownership.
A group activity lesson based on the market place model - students create revision posters on a business ownership and trade knowledge with other market stalls.
The lessson ends with a mini test to check students learning.

Business Plans - GCSE Business Studies Lesson and Group Task
This resource covers two lessons.
In the first lesson students work in pairs to create a business plan using the template included - taking on the role of either an entrepreneur or a business advisor.
In the second lesson the business advisors now become potential investors. The entrepreneurs sit in front of a potential investor and make their pitch. After 15 minutes a buzzer / bell is sounded and the entrepreneurs have to move desks to present their plan to a new investor. A bit like speed dating.

A powerpoint which guides the entrepreneur through the different stages of a business plan.
A blank business plan template for the entrepreneur to use
A business plan observation sheet for the potential investor to peer mark the business plan.

This resource has been designed for GCSE Business Studies, and can be used for the new AQA GCSE Business (8132) for exams 2019 - it covers 3.1.1 The purpose and nature of businesses and focuses on Business enterprise and entrepreneurship. It can also be modified slightly to use for any other level 2 business lesson focusing on the characterisitics needed to become an entrepreneur and the motivations behind starting up your own business.
This resources contains material for two 55 minute lessons covering
A lesson plan for two lessons, listing student and teacher activity
A PowerPoint guiding students through activities related to characteristics of an entrepreneur and objectives of an entrepreneur.
A worksheet where students provide examples of real life entrepreneurs
An answer sheet for the worksheet
An extension activity where students read entrepreneur cards describing 5 different key characteristics needed to become an entrepreneur before completing their own Priority Pyramid to list the characteristics in their own chosen order.
The lesson contains links to additional information about real life entrepreneurs, such as interviews and news paper articles.
There is also a homework sheet for the students which requires them to research an entrepreneur and produce a mini biography.
There is diversity included in the entrepreneurs chosen, with a teenage entrepreneur and a "mumentrepreneur" (a mum who has set up their own business after leaving full time work to care for their young children), as well as well known entreprenuers including Sir Alan Sugar, Steve Jobs and James Dyson.

This resources has been designed for GCSE Business Studies and can be used for the new AQA GCSE Business (8132) for exams 2019 - it covers 3.1.5 Business location from the specification.
This resources contains material for two 55 minute lessons covering business location.

A worksheet containing four business locations for students to discuss
A lesson plan containing the timings for the 2 X 55 minute lessons on Business Location
The main learning activity involves learners working in groups of four to analyse four potential new locations for a toy store. Students discuss the locations in their groups, recording both the advantages and disadvantage for each business location. The students then agree within their group their chosen business location and feedback how their reached their decisions.
A worksheet is included for each business location and each member of the group is expected to complete the advantages and drawbacks for at least one business location. This ensures all team members are contributing to the discussion.
