GCSE Physics (9 – 1) Magnetism and Electromagnetism Revision
GCSE Combined Science (9 – 1) Magnetism and Electromagnetism Revision activity: Two simple revision worksheets, one for foundation tier content and one for higher tier. The PowerPoint gives answers for each of the questions on the sheets.
The resources are based on AQA combined science trilogy objectives but can be used as a basis for a revision lesson for any specification.
Temperature activities for KS3 Science
A series of activities on the subject of temperature for Key Stage 3 students. The PowerPoint presentation includes 4 activities which can be added to any lesson; including a simple measuring temperature starter, a cut and stick activity to learn about some common temperatures, a wordsearch and a crossword to review the key words and definitions.
The PowerPoint includes answers to allow you to seamlessly place the activities into any part of your lesson.

GCSE Physics (9 – 1) The Motor Effect
GCSE Combined Science and Physics (9 – 1) Magnetism and Electromagnetism: PowerPoint based lesson investigating the motor effect and Fleming’s left-hand rule for the Magnetism and Electromagnetism section of the GCSE specifications with a PowerPoint presentation and student worksheets.
The lesson includes:
Starter activity: Students rearrange anagrams of keywords and review the magnetic field patterns for a bar magnet and a straight current-carrying wire.
A discussion of the motor effect and Fleming’s left-hand rule. This includes some example questions and a possible demonstration (Kicking wire). A student worksheet is provided for them to complete during the discussions/demonstrations.
The PowerPoint presentation leads the students through a simple practical activity to make and test a simple motor using basic equipment.
Students are then introduced to the formula F = BIl and provided support slides lead them through how to rearrange the formula to change the subject.
A student worksheet tests their understanding of the formula, F = BIl.
Students are then introduced to how a simple electric motor works
Plenary activity: An exam question worksheet is used to test and summarise the main objectives for the lesson. A mark scheme is provided and is also included on the PowerPoint presentation to allow for class discussion.

GCSE Combined Science and Physics (9 – 1) Energy: A flexible Practical/demonstration lesson investigating the different types of energy stores in the energy section of the GCSE specifications with a PowerPoint presentation and student worksheets.
The lesson includes:
Starter activity: Students start a spider diagram on the subject of energy then share their thoughts with others in the class to build up the information.
The PowerPoint presentation leads the students through different types of energy stores. (Note: Depending on the specifications or textbooks used the PowerPoint can be easily modified.)
Practical activities: A circus of practical activities/demonstrations to provide an overview of each type of energy store.
