GCSE Physics (9 – 1) Energy Stores GCSE Combined Science and Physics (9 – 1) Energy: A flexible Practical/demonstration lesson investigating the different types of energy stores in the energy section of the GCSE specifications with a PowerPoint presentation and student worksheets. The lesson includes: Starter activity: Students start a spider diagram on the subject of energy then share their thoughts with others in the class to build up the information. The PowerPoint presentation leads the students through different types of energy stores. (Note: Depending on the specifications or textbooks used the PowerPoint can be easily modified.) Practical activities: A circus of practical activities/demonstrations to provide an overview of each type of energy store. A list of suggested practical activities and demonstrations is provided – The number and type of activities will be determined by the time available for this part of the course. Note: These can be added to lessons further on in the topic if required. A student worksheet is provide to summarise the main information about energy stores during the lesson. Plenary activity: Students are required to come up with a way of remembering the different energy stores.
