This resource has been created for a non-fiction war unit for year 8, but can easily be adapted for KS4. The two extracts are from 1914 and 1929.

This is a two lesson PowerPoint with resources for Paper 1, Reading Section A. The fiction extract comes from Bleak House by Dickens and has 4 focused questions with a mark scheme. The PowerPoint is easy to follow, with questions 1-3 making up lesson 1 and question 4 and the mark scheme making up lesson 2.
I have used the ‘green hair girl’ book to create consolidation sheets for each of the following: Coding, Capacity and Duration of Memory; The Multi-Store Model; Types of Long-Term Memory; The Working Memory Model; Explanations for Forgetting: Interference; Explanations for Forgetting: Retrieval Failure; EWT: Misleading info: EWT: Anxiety and EWT: cognitive interview. These sheets would be good homework or revision (or even cover) tasks.
