English Language and Literature resource - PowerPoint with some teacher notes.
Created with international IB schools in mind, this is a transition lesson to help introduce PYP/IPC/Primary/Elementary students to their MYP/Junior High/Secondary English Language and Literature journey.
I have used this as a short taster lesson and it has helped prompt some wonderful literary-based discussions.
A suggestion is that you liaise with your librarian and collect some children’s picture books that you think your students will recognise. The idea is to help them connect back with where their reading journey started and trigger memories and experiences to share.
I have included an IB Statement of Inquiry and an introduction to help students understand the shift from Units of Inquiry (UOI) and the cycle of learning or equivalent to Statements of Inquiry at MYP level which match the unit/text/topic studied.
Watch out for more resources with which I may be able to help you and your T&L journey. My main specialism is with English Language and Literature MYP (Middle Years Programme) and DP (Diploma Programme)
