Bias in Science

Bias in Science

(0)
Originally created for IB chemistry: the Nature of Science. Can be adapted to any science, and any scientist. The example biographies are of Fritz Haber. Students read one of the biographies, identify key facts from them, and then rank the scientist as a person and a scientist. Upon comparison with others in the class (who read different biographies) they should notice differences in their rankings. Discussion of why will (hopefully) identify the bias in the documents.
Theory Law Hypothesis

Links with acids and alkalis unit YR7 KS3 give these hazard symbols out to pupils as they enter the room, get them to describe what they see in the picture, what they think the hazard is, and how they might reduce the risk of the hazard. This is a starter that should be done before introducing Chemical Hazard Signs
