Check out my other resources to find additional tasks relating to resistant materials.
A PDF version is also provided to allow the resource to be printed where learners have limited ICT access.
This resource consists of:
Two colour worksheets showing images of components and a blank space to the right: students to cut out symbols of components and place in the corresponding location. There are two sheets covering 40 electronic components including input/output devices, semiconductors and passive components. Answer sheets are included.
In addition an A3 poster is provided showing component images and the symbols that represent them. This can be printed out or projected onto board.
Three worksheets consisting of a range of metal and wood working tools with a space for students to name and describe their purpose. The resource includes:
**Measuring & Marking out wood **
Tape measure
Steel rule
Marking guage / mortice guage
Trysquare
Sliding Bevel
Pair of compasses
Measuring & Marking out Metal
Steel rule
Centre punch
Scribe

Ideal for an easy starter or plenary activity. The sheet includes six images of tools for students to identify, name and give an example use. The following tools are inlcuded:
Tenon saw
Hacksaw
Junior hacksaw
Handsaw
Coping Saw
Mitre saw
I had a class who found it difficult to organise themselves when it came to tidying up at the end of a practical lesson. I produced these tags which are laminated and then attached to students’ aprons with safety pins. They are arranged into teams with a choice of six responsibilities for each member.
A two-page resource that shows:
The direction of the magnetic field generated around a current carrying conductor
The force exerted on a current carrying conductor
Provided in pdf and powerpoint formats.
Seven pages of notes relating to logic gates. Building from the basics of the difference between analogue and digital signals and how logic levels can be represented by voltages. Circuit symbols, boolean expressions and truth tables are explored. This resource is an introduction to PART 2 which covers concepts of combinational logic.
Logic and voltage levels
Logic gates
Logic gate symbols
AND, OR and XOR gates
NAND, NOR and XNOR gates
NOT gates
Propagation delay
An extensive flash card activity for electrical equipment and accessories. Set of 40 flashcards to cut out. A 40 page powerpoint gives the name of the equipment and students to place or stick appropriate images over the six blank spaces on worksheet. Good for starters/plenary, different cards can be selected depending on the content of the lesson.
