This activity is a great way to introduce a bit of French culture into your French classroom for your beginner students. They will be able to “visit” Paris, France with a young girl named Betty as shown in the video and then answer three short answer questions related to the video. This summative evaluation can be used in your DP1 French (niveau moyen = standard level) and niveau supérieur = higher level) classrooms to evaluate your students´ writing skills. This evaluation has been adapted following the theme of “L´organisation sociale” (Social Organisation) as per the DP IB Language B curriculum expectations. The evaluation is based on the movie “Le Comte du Monte Cristo” (2002). Students will need to watch the movie in class before you have them do their summative evaluation on it.
