Two practice writing papers (one foundation, one higher) following the format of the new GCSE writing exam, and focusing on the topics covered in Theme 2. The foundation paper includes four questions (describe the photo, 40 words question, translation and 90 words question) and the higher paper includes three (90 words question, 150 words question and translation). I have also included two feedback sheets (one foundation, one higher) that include"check-lists" (based on the AQA mark scheme for writing) to provide quick, personalised feedback for each of the questions. The check lists provide the students with feedback on what went well (WWW) and what they need to do to improve further (TIF). A very comprehensive set of sentences (suitable for all abilities) and paragraphs (mainly higher) to translate from Spanish into English. The resource includes 91 sentences and six long paragraphs and they cover the following aspects of Theme 2 (Local, regional, international and global areas of interest), organised as follows: Part 1: Home, town, neighbourhood and region Part 2: Social issues (charity/voluntary work; healthy, unhealthy living) and Global issues (the environment; poverty/homelessness) Part 3: Travel and tourism Finally, the six longer paragraphs include language related to all three categories. The sentences include references to a variety of tenses (present, preterite, imperfect, present perfect, conditional, future), as well as a wide range of complex structures (negatives, comparatives, conditional clauses…)

This resource contains a lot of factual information about Hispanic society, focusing on the three topics that cover the sub-theme Multiculturalism in Hispanic society in the new Spanish A Level course (La inmigración, El racismo and La convivencia). I wrote this resource to help my students revise for their upcoming speaking exam (Paper 3), specifically to ensure that they include enough information to score well in AO4 of the paper. The file also includes a detailed overview of the course and of Paper 3.

This booklet contains 59 role plays to provide Spanish GCSE students with plenty of practice to prepare for their speaking exam. They are on foundation and higher tier and they cover all three themes of the new course (AQA specification). Each role play includes the candidate’s role and the teacher’s role, and both the ‘tú’ and ‘usted’ forms are used. The file also includes a student-friendly summary of the specification for the new speaking exam and the mark scheme for the role play. I have also included files with the mark schemes (foundation and higher) for the speaking test to provide the students with instant, personalised feedback as they complete practice speaking papers.

It includes work on opinions, ER verbs in different tenses (present, preterite, imperfect, future and conditional), and exam-like activities (photo cards, translation), as well as reading activities based on authentic materials. Update: I have now included a PowerPoint version of the main file, converted from the original Notebook file. I recommend whenever possible to use the original version, as the file conversion has changed the layout of some slides and some features work less effectively on Power Point.

This booklet contains twenty four questions that follow the format of the 90-word questions in the new French GCSE writing exam. They cover all three themes of the AQA specification, but can be easily adapted to other exam boards. There are eight questions for each theme, and they can be used in lessons, as well as as an easy way to set useful homework activities for the students. All questions include four bullet points that the students are prompted to cover, and they explicitly require them to include references to three time frames and opinions (as per the AQA mark scheme).

Speaking test booklet to prepare students for the Conversation of the new GCSE spanish speaking test (Edexcel). The booklet includes a detailed summary of the requirements of the new speaking exam (role play, picture based task and conversation), both at foundation and higher levels, explained in a student-friendly way, as well as the mark schemes for each element of the test, examples of role plays (foundation and higher) and stimulus cards (with foundation and higher questions), and a very comprehensive list of questions for the general conversation. All the questions have been translated to allow the teachers to use them in the classroom, set them as homework or tell the students to work independently on them .

A 13 pages booklet to help higher ability GCSE students to work independently and and to include a wider variety of structures in their written work. There are two sections in the booklet: Section 1 focuses on tenses, and it includes a summary of how to conjugate the present tense, the preterite, the imperfect, the future simple and the conditional, as well as verb tables for AR, ER and IR verbs in those tenses, including tables for six irregular verbs (ser, tener, estar, ir, poder and haber). This is followed by a explanation on how to conjugate and use a further four tenses: the present perfect, the present continuous, the pluperfect and the conditional perfect. Section 2 focuses on other structures that will help the students include variety and complexity: - lo + adjectives - comparatives and superlatives - negatives - conditionals ('si' clauses) - the infinitive - the present subjunctive - object pronouns - other useful structures Finally, the booklet includes a "check list" or a guide of the kind of structures that the students would be expected to include in work that is graded 4-5, 6-7 or 8-9.

An overview of the two years of the new Spanish A Level course and a lesson-by-lesson Scheme of learning for the new Spanish AS / A Level Year 1 (based on the AQA specification). The overviews include a summary of what topics, grammar points and exam skills should be covered during each half term of the two year course, as well as guidance on the kind of Key Marked Pieces (assessment tasks) that should be completed each half term in order to provide the students with practice of all aspects of Papers 1, 2 and 3. Additionally, I have included a lesson-by-lesson Scheme Of Learning for Year 1 (AS). Based on the Hodder book / online resources, and working on the basis that students get four hours of teaching a week (Teacher 1 and Teacher 2) and one hour of independent learning (ILC session).
