I write all sorts of resources for primary and secondary pupils. Have done supply on the full range for more than 10 years now and always come fully armed with resources for my lessons. I aim particularly at the lower groups who are strugglers. Secondary resources have been created for PRU pupils and they have worked REALLY well. The phonics resources were written for a number of pupils that I tutor after school hours and I have had great results.

Dog Theme: a/An and Feeding your dog

(1)
I suppose its a bit old fashioned to expect a child to fill in A or An correctly but it does help them once they get to secondary level to write a bit better. The second bit of the worksheet is about what to feed your dog and there is a fun picture to colour once choices have been made. Look out for all the DOG related worksheets to file for a DOG THEME.

CLOZE PROCEDURE The new baby

A very useful resource for comprehension skills and reading recovery. The Cloze procedure tasks are thoroughly enjoyed by the pupils. I have used them with older pupils in a PRU.

SILENT W WORKSHEET 3.

(1)
Fill in the silent W and then read the words. Use a yellow felt tip or yellow pencil to fill in the letter so that emphasises the fact that it is not vocalised. Tick all the words that are read correctly. Put a dot next to those that are incorrectly read. Try those again and tick them if correctly read.

Do you have a dyslexic child in the class who mixes b's and d's? I have used this worksheet with a child I tutored and she was soon on her way to being able to see the difference.

PHONICS RECOGNISING THE VOWEL SOUNDS.

(2)
A list of CVC words. In this exercise the pupil will learn about VOWELS and their sounds and be able to identify vowels in words. They can then colour in each vowel. They could choose a different colour for each vowel. Then use the same colour to identify and colour in the vowels in the words. Please leave feedback and a rating if this resource is useful
