Designed for KS3/KS4 transition, A Woman’s Place features four excerpts from 19thC Literature. This complete SOW has been designed around WJEC Component 1 English Language exam, and teaches students the List, How, Impression and Evaluate question.
The 19thC texts were taken form AQA’s KS3 suggested texts for an extra level of challenge; students sitting Component 1 of the WJEC Literature exam would be tested on a 20thC text, but these texts were chosen for the higher ability.
The SOW comes with a booklet ready for printing and all slides/lessons have been differentiated in some way. The SOW also has a Formative Assessment labelled ‘Extended Writing’ embedded and a Summative Assessment. The Summative Assessment will be with the SOW, but on a separate document; this has been adapted from Pride and Prejudice and again, this has been designed to mirror the questions on Language Component 1 (WJEC).
Cheat sheets are embedded and can be found on the assessment slides.
