A unit designed to teach the first half of ‘Macbeth’ for the GCSE AQA Literature Paper 1. This scheme comprises of 5 weeks of lessons that are designed to address each of the AOs for this examination, including knowledge of applied context and close analysis. Assessment opportunities and modeled responses are woven in throughout the scheme and several of these lessons have been graded ‘outstanding’ by DSIB and Ofsted. All lessons are planned with a four part structure to introduce or revise the key skills needed for creative writing. Also works for KS3. A full scheme teaching ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde’ with a focus on the key AOs for the AQA Literature Paper 1. This scheme takes studnets through the novels, teaching the key aspects of narrative and modelling how to respond to the extract based questions of the examination. 22 complete lessons including powerpoints, worksheets and several practice assessment opportunities. My lesson aim to teach independent analytical and thinking skills in order to support deeper understanding of the texts. There are several opportunities to teach context throughout the unit.
