Here are two worksheets (differentiated by complexity) which require children to work with negative numbers. Firstly they must add the missing numbers to the pattern. Then they have some addition and subtractions which require the use of negative numbers. Finally, they apply their knowledge to answer word problems. Enjoy! This is a resource children can use to multiply by four. They see that doubling a number twice is the same as multiplying by four. I call it the 'Double-double machine'. Here is my template complete with an example.

In this activity children must use their knowledge of pictograms and bar charts to work out how much money Dr Doom raises and how much he spends. Children then have to answer one-step and two-step questions using this information. Finally, they must work out the amount of profit Dr Doom makes and draw this onto the bar chart.
