A powerpoint made up of 118 slides covering the Chemistry, Biology and Physics Required Practicals for the June 2022 exams using the Advanced Notice material. This powerpoint covers all the required practicals that will be examined in the AQA Combined Science foundation and higher content in the AQA Combined Science exam June 2022. The powerpoint also contains, exam questions with markschemes. The powerpoint should be used over a range of lessons or shared with students. This will take several lessons to walk students through these practicals and complete exam questions. Also contains exam booklets for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for Higher and Foundation.
Long Answer booklets I created to use with Chemistry, Biology and Physics triple Science students. Print booklet off as A5 for each student and use during the revision period. Suitable for AQA or Edexcel. 30-40 pages of 6 mark questions in each booklet.
Full A-Level Biology lesson. Suitable for all A-Level Biology specifications but was originally designed for Edexcel Biology B specifications. Lesson explains how auxins, giberellin and cytokinins work in plants. Also includes exam question and mark scheme. Ready to use and teach.
This lesson relates to new Edexcel Biology B specification, Topic 6 Lesson 1 - Microbial Techniques. The lesson illustrates what Aseptic techniques are (using a card sort) and students then summarise in their own words. It also outlines the different methods of measuring bacterial growth, counting, turbidity etc. It includes a series of exam questions and these are also embedded throughout the lesson. Contains a step by step lesson plan which can be easily adapted. A practical on aseptic techniques could be incorporated. 100 minute lesson but easily split into two separate lessons. Also contains an exam question associated with the Exponential Growth Constant as per the new specification.
Set of full A-Level Biology lessons. Suitable for all A-Level Biology specifications but was originally designed for Edexcel Biology B specifications. Lesson explains the details of photosynthesis including the Light Dependent and Light Independent Reaction along with the Calvin Cycle and Photophosphorylation.
Full A-Level Biology lesson. Suitable for all A-Level Biology specifications but was originally designed for Edexcel Biology B specifications. 7 Lessons explains how phytochrome pigment works in flowering.
Full lesson which outlines what the humoral and cell-mediated responses are. Also contains a simple card sort activity, students then use this to come up with and design their own flow diagram to illustrate the humoral response. Also illustrates the roles of the different types of white blood cell.
Edexcel Biology B – Topic 8 – Origins of Genetic Information - L2 Monohybrid and Dihybrid Crosses
Full 50 minute lesson on Monohybrid and Dihybrid cross. Suitable for all A-level specifications but was originally made for the New Edexcel Biology B Specification. Includes details of how to construct simple to complex punnet squares and also goes into the details of Mendel's 9:3:3:1 ratio and his original pea plant experiments.
Series of 8 full lessons covering the New GCSE Biology 9-1 Specification. Covers the first topic, each lesson contains specific learning objectives and in class activities as well as exam questions and differentiated help sheets in some lessons.
Full 50 minute lesson contain covering the New 9-1 Edxcel GCSE Biology Specification. Contains a variety of activities and resources to support the learning of Cell Growth and Percentile Charts. Pack contains exam questions and mark schemes to support learning.
Full A-Level Biology lesson. Suitable for all A-Level Biology specifications but was originally designed for Edexcel Biology B specifications. Lesson explains the different parts of the eye, contains links to youtube dissection video. Practice exam questions and also explains the role of rod and cone cells. Rhodopsin and its role in the retina is also covered.
A full lesson, easily adaptable for a single or double lesson. Lesson plan can be found on first slide. This is entirely suitable for the first ever Biology A-Level lesson as an introduction into key Biological Molecules. This could even be used as a Biology A-Level taster lesson for prospective 6th form students. This is suitable for use with new Edexcel Biology B specification. Lesson also involves the active use of molecular model kits.
Simple worksheet also included for students to complete during the lesson or as independent study. The worksheet simply requires them to draw, name and describe the uses of Key Biological molecules.
Full lesson which outlines the pathogenesis of Staph. bacteria, the influenza virus and tuberculosis. Contains a case study of Staph. species and a TB card sort. Suitable for all A level biology specifications but aimed at Edexcel Biology B - Topic 6.
11 lesson bundle covering Topic 1 - Key Concepts in Biology. The lessons were originally designed to meet the new Edexcel 9-1 GCSE Specification but would suit most other exam boards.
Each lesson contains lesson objectives, and activities for students to complete. Worksheets and practical activities are embedded throughout where appropriate.
Full A-Level Biology lesson. Suitable for all A-Level Biology specifications but was originally designed for Edexcel Biology B specifications. Lesson explains hormonal control in mammals. It covers the key differences between peptide hormones and steroids hormones. The lesson uses the example of Oestrogen and Adrenaline and covers their mode of action.
Full A-Level Biology lesson. Suitable for all A-Level Biology specifications but was originally designed for Edexcel Biology B specifications. Lesson explains what happens at a synapse and describes how drugs can alter or mimic neurotransmitters
Full lesson which supports the Core Practical 12 - Using optical method to measure bacterial growth. Lesson and power point outlines how to carry out Aseptic techniques, provides sample data, sample graphs and will allow students to evidence the standards for this core practical. Also involves calculation of exponential growth rate constant.
I created a Edexcel spreadsheet with a grade calculator to help teachers OR pupils work out their final grade.
I also put all the BTEC criteria on one word document so it is easier to see/find. The pupils can also use this to tick off their criteria as they complete an assignment.
