A lesson that gives an overview of Atlantic slavery, descriptions and images of the Triangular Trade routes and then focuses on the Middle Passage. The main activity is a carousel/group task looking at conditions on the ships for the slaves.

An introduction lesson that looks at the world at the start and end of the Early Modern period, focus on change and continuity. The end of the lesson looks further at England during the Early Modern period as this is what the topic will lead in to.

A lesson based on how William used the feudal system to control England. The lesson requires the attached cards and was usually done with some sort of chocolates/sweets that were easy to hand out and collect. The lesson uses examples from school to introduce the ideas, goes through the order of the feudal system and has a written summary to conclude.

An introduction to Russia (1905-1941). The lesson includes an introductory quiz and follow-up activity to begin to think about the problems facing Russia, as well as the size/scale of the country. A murder case study of the 'Princes in the Tower'. The pack includes background information, pictures/a key for the main suspects, a card sort/colour coading activity and a page for summaries and information. The information can also be put in to a PowerPoint to complete the activity as a class activity, rather than individual work.

Designed as an introduction lesson to WJEC's Depression, War and Recovery course - but also offers a general overview. The lesson looks at the Wall St Crash, declining Old Industry and the growth of New Industry as causes of the depression.

A simple starter (or tutor time activity) which was used during Women's History Month. The class are given a series of facts about Gertrude Bell, and asked to sketch what they think the person looks like. Most will draw an Indiana Jones type character. After reavealing to them that it was describing a woman, it was used as a link in women's history and also in this instance to look further at Gertrude Bell. The image on the final slide links to a recent film made of her life.

A source based enquiry on Henry V. Using a range of eight sources, looking at content, origin, purpose, reliablity and usefulness. Assessment question links to whether Henry V was a 'Man of Myth, or Scourge of God'. The sources are a range of primary/secondary, with a mix of text and visual sources.

A carousel activity with worksheet that looks at some basic information about the six main world religions (Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism, Judaism and Hinduism). Each religion has a two page summary of key information and facts which correspond with the table to complete on the worksheet (ideally A3). The lesson includes a maths based starter (looking at percentages of world religions), and a literacy plenary.

A presentation and activity designed to introduce year 7 pupils to causes and consequences. The presentation makes use of the attached resource, but the story can be adapted to suit needs. The example story contains a gay main character and was used as a link for PSHE/L4L.
