A worksheet on scale drawing for Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Learners, also suitable for GCSE. Learners have to calculate real measurements using a given scale and also have to draw a scale plan using a given scale. Learners also have to change between metric measures. A nice and easy to follow worksheet on what is a diffiicult topic as identified by feedback from examiner reports.

Having reviewed the examiners reports for functional skills and noticing common misconceptions in class I have put together 20 Functional Skills Maths revision questions at Level 1. They are functional skills questions answered incorrectly covering common areas such as scale drawing, averages to name but a few.
The learners have to answer correctly and explain why Barry was wrong. This has worked really as it allows the students to see common mistakes and misconceptions and for them to correct them. By explaining the errors they spot it promotes higher order thinking.
