A lesson based on the context of The Magician's Nephew- contains levels for ICT. Pupils have to research Sherlock Holmes. Can be adapted for any research task. Contains AFL assessment sheet for plenary. I get pupils to stick this on the front of their books.

The spelling booklet has now evolved. If you have used my previous resource, your pupils should now have some skills in memorising spellings. Characters from Ice Age are used to teach students to infer and deduce their characteristics based upon their appearence.

Pupls put the English skills into the correct part of the Venn diagram.

Has a more simple version for weaker pupils. Pupils use the quotes to draw a picture of that part of the scene.

This scheme of work has detailed 3 part lesson plans along with most of the resources to allow instant teaching! This computer quest (or game) can be used before reading Holes to gain interest of pupils or afterwards as a treat. It would also work well as a stand alone library/ICT activity- teaching students to use links/read information, etc. I know the instructions appear complicated but once its done it's a fab resource!
