This is a bundle of character and theme essay plans for the WJEC A Level English Language and Literature exam on ‘King Lear’. The notes are very detailed and could be applied to other exam boards studying this text. There are 12 essay plans on the main themes and characters in the play. I created these essay plans to prepare for my exam and achieved an A*. They are an excellent resource for teachers or for students doing independent revision. Please note that at the time of taking the exam, critical interpretation was not part of the WJEC syllabus so is not reflected in the essays.

This would be an extremely useful revision resource for students to use independently or to go over in class. I made these for my own revision and achieved an A* in the exam. There is also a document of ‘Brief Plans’ for more concise revision, and an example response to an extract question (from a past paper).

It was designed for WJEC A Level English Language and Literature but can be adapted for any exam on this text. It contains word documents with very detailed essay plans for the main characters and themes in the text. I created these for my own revision and achieved an A* in the exam. These would be excellent for both teachers and students’ independent revision.
This is a PowerPoint containing concise but comprehensive revision notes for the Culture and Family topic of the WJEC AS Sociology qualification. The PowerPoint contains 15 detailed slides and was used to obtain an A grade (the highest possible for AS). This resource was made for the WJEC exam board, but would be applicable to other specifications because it contains notes on central concepts and theorists. Key topics include agents of socialisation, culture and identity, historical family change, changes in conjugal relationships and family theorists (Postmodernism, Marxism, Functionalism, Feminism and the New Right).

It includes very detailed essay plans for the five main characters, as well as two complete example essays (on Will and Ellie). These were plans I made in preparation for my GCSE exam and I achieved an A*. They would be an excellent resource for teachers to either use in lessons or give to students for independent revision.
This is an example piece of creative writing for GCSE. It is a story such as those found in AQA GCSE English Language Paper 1, but it easily applies to all exam boards. It was written in response to the prompt “Write a story about uncovering a long-kept family secret” in the allocated 45 minutes. It does not have an exact mark but would be in the top band as it as a sophisticated, fluent and original piece of writing. The document also contains bullet-points which display the process of planning the story, and comments on devices and strategies used during writing. The story displays an imaginative setting and plot, lots of figurative devices (simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration), and a variety of sentence structures, sentence starters and punctuation. This was written by myself to show the pupils I tutor, and I received an A* in English Language GCSE.
This is a concise but comprehensive PowerPoint of revision notes for the WJEC AS Sociology topics Methodology and Education. It contains 25 detailed slides on these two topics. Although it was designed to be used for revision for the WJEC specification, and helped me to achieve an A (the highest grade), it covers core theorists and topics so would be applicable to other exam boards. Key topics covered include methodology theorists, types of sampling, PET issues, history of the education system and sociological theories (Functionalism, Marxism, Interactionalism, Postmodernism, the New Right, Feminism), class, cultural deprivation, ethnicity and gender. It is a concise summary of the key formulae and facts required for the following topics: differentiation (by rule and 1st principles), integration, completing the square, quadratic formula, stationary points, coordination geometry and sine and cosine graph transformations. I used this as a revision resource of the most important things to remember, along with past paper practice, and achieved a Distinction. It is a useful revision resource for students preparing for the exam.

It was designed for WJEC Geography AS Level but could be adapted to any exam board. It would be an excellent resource to cover a few lessons before the exam or for students as an independent resource. I created it to revise for my exam and achieved an A (maximum grade at AS).
This is a comprehensive and detailed revision powerpoint on the topic of ‘Global Governance’ for A Level Geography. It covers all of the topics in the WJEC A Level Geography specification for this option (globalisation, migration, interdependency, urban development, governance of oceans, oil and energy, shipping, pollution and management of resources) but can be adapted for any exam board. The 54 slides display information in a variety of formats that makes it easy to understand. I followed the specification closely and used this as revision for my exam and achieved an A*.

It contains 10 detailed slides explaining sentence framework, and different word groups and subgroups. It is concise and easy to understand. It would be a useful resource for staff teaching about lexis and sentences or for students struggling to understand the Language element of the course.

It contains 47 slides explaining all of the topics on the specification for WJEC A Level Geography but it can be easily adapted for other exam boards.
