A collection of the resources I find useful in my classroom practise at a mixed comprehensive in Essex. I am an experienced Science teacher and currently teach all sciences to GCSE and Biology to A-Level, so the resources reflect what I am currently teaching and the profile of my classes. I also have a leadership role in overseeing student outcomes and curriculum. I also post resources relating to whole school development occasionally.

This is a double sided planning sheet i use with my 6th form biology classes to help them plan their examination answers and hopefully improve exam technique. There are three different types of plant ot be used with different types of questions. I laminate these and then students write on with OHP pens to form a plan for their answers. Then just wipe off and plan for the next answer.

Students can write on the sheets and the sheets can be wiped and reused. Side 1: List of unit keywords, key diagrams, and value continuum which students can mark their understanding of different concepts. Side 2 : help on planning the structure of 6 mark question answers.

Lesson powerpoint and exam questions on the link reaction and krebs cycle. The first part of the powerpoint is a review of glycolysis. The resources required by students for the activities are at the end of the ppt. The Krebs cycle slides are more detailed than required for A Level. I use this as a stimulus for the students to annotate the simplified krebs cycle on the last slide. Hope its useful!

This is a powerpoint i wrote for my A2 class. It goes over the structure and role of ATP. An introduction to co-enzymes / electron acceptors. Stages of glycolysis. Each stage contains a main slide outlining the points required for A2 and a supporting slide showing some of the bits the A Level skips; these are not required but were included as discussion points for the more able students. Also included OCR past paper questions on glycolysis + answers. Hope its useful! 1
