This is a very comprehensive and well structured vocabulary booklet for Junior Cert or Leaving Cert/GCSE French. It has 27 pages in total. All topics needed for the Junior Cert are covered (from days of the week, to food, directions, pastimes, animals etc…). Each unit of vocab is presented in a grid over one/two pages. The French words are written in in black and the English translations are written in in a different colour for each topic. Also includes a full page of useful verbs in the first person ‘je’ in the present, past and future tense. The key ‘je’ verbs for ordinary level French are highlighted but can of course, be amended. The booklet can be printed and put together to suit your preferences/class needs. This is a very easy and clear way of presenting or revising vocab and serves extremely helpful to the students. *For the same booklet, without the English translations, see ‘My Shop’.

A PPT and accompanying cloze test based on plate tectonics, which serves as an introduction to 1st Year geography students. ‘To’do’/Homework slides are based on the ‘Geography in Action’ textbook and activity book. Three worksheets based on 'Grand Corps Malade. First worksheet is a biography about him and his life. Questions here are in English (to be answered in English). This can be a starter activity to introduce students to the artist. Second Worksheet is based on his song ‘Je viens de la’ and is designed as a cloze test. It also has a short translation activity and a grammar activity too which can be assigned for homework. Third worksheet is adapted from an authentic source (French online newspaper) and questions are in French (to be answered in French). This can be differentiated by changing the questions to English/writing easier questions. Again, this can be done in class or for homework. The three worksheets are designed so that the students are progressively challenged , starting quite easy and finishing with difficult questions to be answered in the target language. I use this study as part of my TY module.

A 38 slide PPT which presents the places and shops in the town using words and real life images. Animations included so that this presentation can be used as a revision exercise/form of assessment (AFL) as well as used to present the vocab initially. last two slides detail very simple oral and written tasks.

A 19 slide PPT to present directions in French. Includes key phrases and a cartoon image to go with each one.

A comprehension worksheet based on the film 'Les Intouchables'. Comprehension put together using authentic online sources. Questions in French, to be answered in French.

Adjectives: The first hand out explains how to make adjectives agree in gender and in number and also gives examples. It is a two page word document and is appropriate for all levels. The second document is an exam (could also be used as a class activity or as homework) and has two sections; first section is a simple French to English translation and second section is a grid in which students must write out the adjectives in feminine and plural form. Also attached is a worksheet in which students must insert the correct form of the adjective in each sentence and then translate each sentence. Could also be used as an exam.

30 Images of food items with matching words presented in a PPT. I print and laminate each slide (6 slides per page) and use the pieces as a form of AFL. Students are given all of the pieces and need to match the word with the correct picture. Can make as many sets as you like and students can work individually, in pairs or in small groups. Could also be used for an 'I have, who has' activity. Of course, this can also be used to present the vocab.

A two page hand out explaining when to use and how to form the conditional tense in French. Followed by a short 9 sentence exercise to put the rules into practice.

A 'find someone who' activity based on likes and dislikes of food. Used as a class activity where every student must move around the class asking the questions in French and finding another student who can out their name to the statement. Worksheet is a follow on from the survey activity. Students work alone to categorize each food item mentioned in the survey and to pretend to be ordering food in a restaurant in France. Can be used in class or as a homework assignment.

Futur simple - a PPT based on the simple future in French. Clear, colorful and easy to follow. Linked with Folens book 'Bienvenue en France 2' and two slides incorporate add-on activities from this book. Slides can be deleted or amended to suit any French class. Worksheet includes 10 sentences to be translated from English to French and can be used as an assessment, to recap or as homework.

PowerPoint presenting the prepositions in French using 'Pierre, la petite souris'. Second PPT to be used as a class activity to recap or to assess.

A hand out which explains when and how to use personal pronouns, direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns. A 2 page word document. Could be used a lesson starter or as a revision hand out. No exercises attached so this would need to be supplemented.

An 18 slide PPT which explains The Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming. Suitable for junior students. Explains how the Greenhouse Effect is a natural occurance. Discusses the causes of global warming and possible solutions. Contains some cartoon illustrations, diagrams and links to 2 YouTube videos- one short clip from the National Geographic and another animated cartoon to facilitate visual learners. Also attached is a think-pair-share graphic organiser, used to introduce the topic, as well as a cloze test on the topic, which I use as an in-class assesment that is peer-corrected. The to-do slide at the end of the PPT directs students to the Geoplanet workbook by EDCO. This can be adapted to suit your own book.

Worksheet with 15 English - French translations. Based on passé compose (avoir and etre). I use this for my TY class but it can be used for all years studying or revising passé compose. Sentences designed to be useful for oral exam, diary entry or letter.

A 3 page document which explains how to form both the future tenses in French (proche et simple). The 3rd page is a worksheet with translation exercises. Useful for revision, to recap or to initially introduce the tenses.

A two page word document which summarizes the structure of the Earth and explains plate tectonics and continental drift. Also includes a labeled image of the World's major plates. Two documents... The first is a PPT with all of the key terms and definitions for population studies e.g. population explosion, natural change, child mortality etc... These should be printed and laminated to make flashcards. This can be used as a lesson starter to establish what the students already know and can also be used at the end of the topic to assess the students. This can be done individually, in pairs or in groups. The second document is a one page word document with the same key terms and definitions matched up. This can be given after the initial activity.

A two page word document which explains how earthquakes occur, explains the key terms associated with earthquakes, briefly discusses the San Andreas Fault and uses the 2008 earthquake in Sichaun as a case study.
