I made this PPT for classes I was teaching as CLIL for international students. There are elements of reading and listening comprehension.

This was 6 hours work for my CLIL class of international students. An introduction to the concept of formal and informal language as well as activities for identifying and using the correct register. An introduction to entrepreneurs and USPs. Vocab and worksheet to help analyse a Dragon’s Den pitch, and then some guidance on creating their own pitch.

I made this PPT for a CLIL lesson with international students. It introduces the idea of cause and effect in Geography, and how we can use the first conditional for talking about causes and effects.

Reading comprehension questions and literacy and class activities for guided reading through The Tiger Who Came To Tea. Ss find answers within the text, write in full sentences, give opinions, match food to the place where it’s found, find adjectives, think about articles and countable and uncountable nouns, design a plate to feed a tiger, and start to think and plan their own tea party.

A checklist of important features in narrative/story writing to guide students through self reflection at the end of a piece of writing. Can also be used to help peer review a partner’s story. The checklist includes some tick boxes for checking for important features and then an open ended sentence starter at the end for the student to reflect on what they did well and how they could improve next time. Ideal for an English or EFL classroom teaching Literature/Creative Writing skills and wanting to encourage a student centred approach to feedback.

A PPT which guides students with vocabulary and sentence structures to describe their city, as well as a city they have been to. Includes vocabulary quizzes, reading tasks, writing tasks, a speaking task, grammar work on articles, there is/are and past simple. Designed for ESL students studying towards the KET exam. Enough to split across two classes.

The students can use their new vocabulary/ target language to create their own real or alien words worksheet. On the back there is space for them to draw a picture and write some sentences about to encourage sentence level writing using new target language. This can be used at the end of any topic as a kind of revision. A good worksheet for low level young learners, can be used as a homework or for independent application of phonics, new vocabulary etc.

Two Christmas-themed group running dictations. The first one features the names of Santa in different countries around the world. Students need to copy them correctly then work to match them. The second they need to copy and colour a picture correctly. Great for using Christmas vocabulary, working as a team and team-building, Christmas End of Term classes, ESL students and all students etc.

An activity for sorting key events in Hitler’s life into the correct order and then matching dates. Answer Key included. Created for a History CLIL class teaching timelines but would be useful for any class teaching about Hitler’s life or an introduction/overview of Hitler.
