Students translate common Computing words they have studied/know into a language they study at school/other language they speak. They then made a poster for each word.
A short activity where students look at the audience and purpose of three websites. Template is completed on the computer so the students can just check the boxes and fill in the specific places rather than format the document.
Aids the planning of a website - it is meant to encourage more independence and includes challenge activities. Students decide how to tackle the planning from the sheet. No software required if printed.
Sheets to hopefully help students with the Maths of the different types of storage. Includes bits, nibbles, bytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes and petabytes.
Video tutorials that cover a range of ‘essential skills’ including:
Changing the document colour
Colour picker
Guides
History
Opening a file
Panels
Place embedded
Saving
Setting up the document
Show transform tools

There is a student ticksheet for R082 with some guidance on use/explanaton which is particularly useful if they are using Adobe Photoshop to complete this Creative iMedia unit.
After completing visual identity practice I then move onto teaching students how to prepare images that they download off the web so they are suitable for a ‘main graphic’.
On the stages we work through setting up folders to keep them organised, download and store the images; change the resolution, take screenshots to evidence the steps taken; save the image for use later.
You will need to think of a practice idea as I use this sheet alongside a themed set of lessons preparing students for R094.
Note: Repurposing is mentioned though does not have detail about this as I have another dedicated resource for this.
First in a series of lessons that aim to teach KS3/4 students how to develop a website using RocketCake 5.
Completely reworked from my RocketCake 4 KS4 lessons - students now learn by creating a website with you, starting with a master page to promote consistency.
A good tool to help students in Creative iMedia R097 if their brief can be solved with a website as no coding is required.
Lesson includes teacher PowerPoint with videos guiding the process (and an all-new voice!); client brief (PDF); separate videos (MP4) for students to play on their own; student checklist; assets to help build the page quickly e.g. logo, text; teacher solution to tasks.
Almost all my Interactive Multimedia Products Practice lessons in one bundle!
I can’t add any more due to TES restrictions but I also sell:
*Using PowerPoint to make an Interactive Multimedia Product - R087 Practice Task
Creative iMedia R087 Interactive Multimedia Products Software Comparison Exercise*
A one-page mini project in which students have to make a tourist information guide for where they live. Includes a brief template for students and a slide to show on the whiteboard for a teacher.
Suitable for a one-off/cover lesson or a short series of lessons to help students build up their digital literacy skills.
The PDF can be ticked and typed into!
Updated for 2023 - now editable and the corrupted ZIP file has been fixed so all files open correctly!
