Descriptions: Battleship: Battleship is a game for two players. Players try to guess the location of five ships their opponent has hidden on a grid. The goal is to sink all of your opponent’s ships by correctly guessing their location. If a student “hits” an opponent’s ship, their opponent must use the target language to perform the tasks on the spaces that they land on, whether it be answer a question or fill in the missing word. Board Game: Students will roll the die and move the number of spaces rolled. They will use the target language to perform the tasks on the spaces that they land on, whether it be answer a question or fill in the missing word. The student that reaches the finish square first or is closest to it when time is up wins! Card Game: Students are dealt cards. Students will use the target language to perform the tasks on those cards, whether it be answer a question or fill in the missing word. If students are correct, they must put the card face down in front of them and wait for their next turn. If students are incorrect they must put the card back in their playing stack and use the card again on a future turn. The student that has all of their cards face down in front of them first Wins! Checkers Game: Play checkers with two people and a board consisting of 64 squares. The board alternates between 32 red and 32 black squares. Students will take turn moving across the board. A player wins the game when the opponent cannot make a move. With all checkerboard moves, students will use the target language to perform the tasks on the spaces they land on, whether it be answer a question or fill in the missing word. Chutes & Ladders Game: Play the Chutes and Ladders like a regular board game except students begin at the bottom of the game and move upwards. If a student lands on a space with a ladder they may climb up to the space where the ladder ends. If they land on a Chute they must slide down to the space where the chute ends. As students move around the board they will use the target language to perform the tasks on the spaces they land on, whether it be answer a question or fill in the missing word. Tic-Tac-Toe or Bingo Game: The teacher will call out a particular square and ask the question or read the information in the square. Students will search to see if they have the information in the correct square. Students must write the answer to the question or fill in the blank in their square. If students complete the information correctly, then the square belongs to them or they own the square. Notes: All games Include a page with instructions and answer keys. All games are formatted to be printed on legal size paper. Food Items Explanation-Exercises Presentation

Food Items Explanation-Exercises Presentation-ESL Fun Class! Try out our Food Items Explanation-Exercises Presentation. Description: This is a 24-slide Explanation-Exercises Presentation.  The presentation has a vocabulary explanation, thirty-five common vocabulary words with their definitions or descriptions, reading exercises, conversation exercises and discussion exercises along with a cover slide, answer keys and a good-bye slide. How to Use it:  Have students take turns with the teacher reading the vocabulary explanation slide, the seven definition slides and the additional notes slide.  Be ready to answer questions while going over these slides. Students can take turns while working on the reading and conversation slides too.  Within the four reading and conversation slides, there are two slides with five photos and two slides with text.  Students will use the grammar topic to identify what is in each photo.  Then they will use the photos to help them fill in the missing words in the text. The presentation finishes with two discussion slides which contain five photos each.  Students can now get into pairs or groups and use the target language to talk to each other about the photos.  Suggested answers follow on the next slide. It is a good idea for teachers to print out a copy of the answer key slides for quick reference.  To do this just save the presentation as a PDF and then print the answer slides with a PDF printer. The presentations also work great for extra homework practice, extra credit or material for substitute teachers. You can always upload the presentation to your platform in PDF format and have students complete them with a PDF editing program. Notes: Be sure to download the sample page and zoom in to see all of the exercises clearly. Look for our free syllabus to see how this PowerPoint dovetails with a grammar unit in our five-semester course.  (the complete course will be available by August 2018) Most of the material in this presentation is sold separately in worksheet form on this site. Use our board, card and Jeopardy games, worksheets, or our other PowerPoint presentations as complementary activities for this presentation.
