I created this booklet to allow students to practise their speaking skills, in particular the picture-based task, with a cultural focus. The pictures used are all famous paintings found in the Museo del Prado in Spain. Full PPT lesson providing information about the Edexcel GCSE Speaking exam, focusing on task 3 (the conversation). It includes: Three examples of the one minute presentation (the actual recording from former students in 2018 and the transcript). Topics used: theme 3 (school) and theme 4 (work). An activity to focus on key language and structures in the three presentations. An example of the follow-up questions in the conversation (the actual recording from a former student in 2018). Assessment criteria for the conversation part of the speaking for students to understand and be able to use it.

Text about new technologies with a focus on social networks (Instagram in particular). Three new GCSE (Edexcel) exam style of questions (gap fill) - two in English and one in Spanish. Two exercises focused on vocabulary and expressions. One true/false/not mentioned activity. One writing exercise.

It can be used with students in Years 9, 10 or 11, depending on their level. If used with Year 11 students, Foundation classes would benefit more as it may be too easy for Higher groups (although good revision for them). There are six questions and it focuses on the use of adjectives when giving opinions or describing.
