This powerpoint is a companion for teaching the Edquas Peaky Blinders component 2 TV drama set product.
There are teacher notes at the beginning outlining some of the potential Year 12 / A level 20 mark tasks. I would advise watching the product on the BBC iPlayer or DVD and using the powerpoint to prompt note-taking tasks and discussions. There are links to YouTube clips to explore genre hybridity and intertextuality as well as links to YouTube guides to theories. I have broadly separated tasks into Narrative, Representation, Genre, Audience and Context.
There is a combination of exam board mark schemes adapted from other products and indicative content for self, peer and teacher assessment. There are plenty of opportunities for extended responses for students throughout, as well as pair and group planning activities.
I haven’t yet created a Year 13 / Year 2 A-level powerpoint - I will do at some point! I have taught my Year 12s using this and I’ve reflected on it and adapted it slightly so I hope it will prove useful.
This revision booklet enables learners to practise some Component 1 style exam tasks with some handy tips and examples of how they might embed subject terminology. It also reminds them about the structure of the exam / marks / sections to expect.

For anyone who's attended the brilliant 9-1 Eduqas Media Studies conferences, you'll know that the theoretical framework is an essential basis for teaching the new course. I don't like my students to waste time copying the theories into the media terminology glossary in the back of their books, I like them to stick it in and focus on applying the theories to textual analysis. The resources attached will help you get ahead of planning and have been labelled so you can just print/photocopy exactly how many you need for each class way in advance.
