gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Radioactivity revision dominoes

(0)
Designed for GCSE Physics, these dominoes contain key terms in Nuclear Physics and can be used for a starter, plenary or as part of a revision exercise. Ideal for small groups or individual students. 4 differently coloured sets of 24 dominoes for easy sorting at the end of the day!
Quantum Physics - Electron Energy Level revision

Quantum Physics - Electron Energy Level revision

(0)
These resources are ideal for allowing students to test their knowledge of the frequency/wavelength of photons absorbed/emitted by electrons as they transition between energy levels. I printed the energy level diagrams on card and gave each pair a set. With the correct answers, I wrote a letter on the back of each card which would make a Physics term or terms (e.g. Doppler & Young). Incorrect answers had random letters written on the back, then all coloured cards were stuck in various locations around the room, to make a treasure hunt. For my Year 13 AS Physics students (medium to high ability) this activity took 15-20 minutes and was great for revision. The Word document includes instructions which can be given to the pairs/groups with their energy level diagram cards.
Plotting Graphs in Physics
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Plotting Graphs in Physics

(0)
These 3 documents include: * a PowerPoint presentation to discuss the different types of graphs and key features needed when plotting graphs * a supporting set of notes for students * practice questions These are designed for Key Stage 3 students to support their analysis of experimental results.
Fossil Fuels at GCSE

It includes a presentation with accompanying student notes (which include questions), a research activity and homework on the following areas: * how fossil fuels are formed * their advantages & disadvantages, including alternatives * efficiency * law of conservation of energy
A Level Physics Graphs & Data Analysis
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

A Level Physics Graphs & Data Analysis

(0)
Designed for CCEA's A Level Physics specification, this worksheet of questions is designed for students to improve their graph work for data analysis and experimental analysis. Questions include: * comparing equations to the equation for a straight line y = mx + c, determining the gradient and y intercept * taking logs of equations before linking to y = mx + c * using data provided to take logs of an equation and decide upon correct axes for a graph, with a view to finding the numerical value of a constant
GCSE Electricity - Resistor Networks
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

GCSE Electricity - Resistor Networks

(0)
These resources are ideal for allowing students to test their knowledge of total resistance in series and parallel circuits. I printed the network diagrams on card and gave each pair a set. With the correct answers, I wrote a letter on the back of each card which would make a Physics term or terms (e.g. longitudinal). Incorrect answers had random letters written on the back, then all coloured cards were stuck in various locations around the room, to make a treasure hunt. For my Year 12 GCSE students (medium to high ability) this activity took 10-15 minutes and was great for revision. The Word document includes instructions which can be given to the pairs/groups with their network diagram cards.
