It starts with a pre-learning activity on fishing, and goes through vocabulary, imagery, annotation and analysis, theme exploration, quote finding, writers methods (language techniques). Complete with learning objectives, starters, plenaries, pair work, links to multimedia resources, this is perfect for a stand-alone mini unit on poetry, or as part of a larger unit on poetry. I've used for top set y9 but is also suitable for mid-higher sets across all KS3.
