This download is an end of year celebrity quiz. Have fun with your students at the end of the year with this interactive and original celebrity quiz!
The quiz is based around a fairground with different attractions, each featuring celebrity faces (with features hidden). Students must guess the identity of the celebrities. Some are easier to identify than others! There are buttons to easily move between fairground attractions.

End of YearWriting Lesson
This PowerPoint is an end of year report for my teacher writing lesson. It is a fun writing lesson with sentence starters and modelled paragraphs to help students to structure their writing.
During report writing season, why not ask your pupils to write a report on you? Care is taken to ensure that pupils are reminded to be respectful and modelled paragraphs help tailor students’ comments so they are appopriate. The activity is designed to be fun and engaging whilst also creating valuable teaching opportunities.

Inference Reading Lesson / Whole Class Reading
This PowerPoint is an inference reading comprehension lesson for Key Stage 2. It includes a teacher presentation and pupil tasks. There are three differentiated challenges for each extract so that pupils can apply their inference skills.

A RANGE OF TASKS
The five task cards all focus on the skill of inference. They encourage students to use the sentence stem, ‘I know this because in the text it says’ in order to give evidence for their answers. Each task card either has an answer key or suggested answer depending on the task given.

Nowruz Lesson KS2
This Nowruz Lesson for KS2 introduces students to the festival of Nowruz - Iranian New Year. Students learn about Nowruz and then use this information to plan the celebrations for a boy called Kian. There is a Nowruz PowerPoint and a worksheet to use to plan Kian’s Nowruz.

Ancient Greek Deities Poems Comprehension
This Ancient Greek deities poems comprehension reading and history activity includes four poems about Ancient Greek gods and goddesses. Each one then has a set of questions for pupils to revise their knowledge of each deity. This also gives pupils the chance to practise their reading comprehension skills. Deities covered in the poems are: Zeus, Hera, Apollo and Poseidon.
The cross-curricular nature of this activity means that children will be able to practise both their history skills (learning about Ancient Greek gods) and reading comprehension skills at the same time.
The comprehension questions include retrieval and inference questions and also author’s intent and vocabulary ones. There are a mix of circle the answer, one word, one sentence and longer answers. Some questions require evidence from the text. All answers are included (sample answers where more than one answer would be acceptable).

If you’re looking for Y6 SATS revision for ordering the events of a text, then look no further. There are 5 fun stories included in this order the events booklet. There are then 2 order the events questions for each story (so 10 in total). Ordering the events is an important reading comprehension skill and one that the children are usually required to demonstrate in Year 6 SATS.
Also included is a guide to remind pupils about the steps that they need to take in order to order the events. This could be enlarged and put on a display or working wall to remind pupils how to order the events in a systematic way.
The order the events stories and worksheets are arranged in a booklet, making it perfect for a homework activity or for a supply day as you near SATS. It means that you can just print and go. There are two copies of each story in the pack, so that pupils can use a separate story for each order the events question (meaning they don’t get muddled up).

Creating a Class Agreement Lesson
This is lesson to write a class agreement, charter or set of class ‘rules’ during the first day or week back in September or your first day/week with a new class. It is a complete lesson to create your class agreement together. The lesson takes the class through the process of writing the agreement, with worksheets to complete along the way.
There is a focus on how an agreement or charter is different from rules, taking into account the vocabulary which makes an agreement effective. There is also a section on modal verbs, providing some cross-curricular SPaG coverage.

Inference Maze - KS2 Fun Inference Activity
Looking for a fun way to teach or revise inference in reading lessons with your KS2 students? In this activity, pupils must use their inference skills to guide TV presenter, Mya, through a maze.
The PowerPoint revises the meaning of inference before guiding pupils through the process of finding Mya’s route through the maze. At each step, there are two objects to follow. Pupils must use infer which object to select from the clues given by Mya. At each step, answers are given so that pupils know if they are on the right track.

Reading Ordering Events Mystery KS2
This order the events and solve the mystery reading comprehension activity is a fun way to help your students learn how to order events in a text. They have to order the events to solve the mystery of who threw the ice bucket of water over Mr Lee, everyone’s favourite Year 5 teacher!
In this activity, students are given accounts written by each of the five suspects. They must order the events to check who is telling the truth. By the end of the activity, they will be able to see who is lying and therefore who threw the ice bucket!
The activity teaches students how to use a colour-coded key to help order the events. With this in mind, there is a separate copy of the texts for pupils to use to practise this technique.
