I devised this to show students what they need to do to improve their geographical responses and skills. On one side is a writing responses grid, and on the other a geographical skills grid. There are also tracking grids for each. I use this resource to track progress without using numerical levels.

I devised the descriptors in order to get students to improve their written and skills responses in Geography. The 'No Levels' descriptors can be found within the packs.
There are three assessment tasks with success criteria covering three areas of each of the topics above. Success Criteria slips can be given to students as part of their feedback.
The assessment encourages better written responses from pupils.
Can be used for KS3 or KS4.

A river long profile activity covering the physical and human activities and processes along a river in the upper, middle and lower sections e.g river processes, transport, land-use etc.
Students choose the correct answers from a choice of 3 for each of the 18 sections.
