I wrote this WAGOLL to support my Year 6 class at the beginning of Autumn term. It includes relative clauses, parenthesis, semi-colons, some Year 5/6 spellings and causal conjunctions. Written in a formal style. They will use it for facts and identifying features. I have included a cheat sheet where I have highlighted some of the word classes that I want to draw their attention to. Not every word class is highlighted.
I am open to constructive feedback, so if you think this resource could be improved in any way, let me know.
I have written a model letter based on the book Polar Bear Explorers’ Club by Alex Bell. The character, Mr Fogg, is writing to persuade Felix not to take Stella on the expedition. The letter is in a persuasive style and I have made the tone formal although they know each other. I am using it to pick out the persuasive techniques such as flattery, modal verbs and year 6 punctuation.
