Spreadsheet A&E - OCR Cambridge Nationals Information Technologies
This is a resource that goes through each of the formulae that students need to know for the course. It has an activity for them to practice each formula and apply it to a working situation. My students come back to this when they build any spreadsheet and can’t remember how to do a certain formula.
OCR Nationals Information Technologies (new for Sept 2017)
Please find available a presentation and associated worksheet to evidence student progress in Module 1, Activity 1 - The Project Life Cycle. I will be adding more lessons as and when produced and a course booklet when I have finished preparing every lesson (this could take some time though). Each presentation also contains 6-7 'Chunking' words to familiarise students with subject specific terminology. These can be assessed in subsequent lessons - I use a Moodle quiz function on my subject page to do this.
i also have a Moodle course that will fully support the delivery of this qualification - please email me for more details.

Extended Questions 6 mark revision strategy - Improving Technology
TOPIC: Improving Technology
This resource is two pages, the first is a blank copy that my students complete in class and the second is an 'answer' sheet that I provide the students, either on the board as a reflective exercise or in hard copy for intervention purposes.
Students have reacted really positively to this and we are in the process of producing one for each topic area on the curriculum so that student are prepared for 6 mark questions on any topic in the specification.

Edexcel GCSE ICT Course Booklet v2.0
This course booklet contains all of the:
- worksheets
- chunking/terminology activities for each lesson
- homeworks
- associated mind map and revision activities
- revision activities
- literacy activities
- differentiated word searches and crosswords
I issue each student that I teach with this booklet and we work through it with the associated PowerPoints.
The booklet starts with a specification checklist and a PLC activity for each unit of work.
Each lesson starts with the associated chunking/terminology and then features lesson content and an associated home task (past paper of exam-style questions). I work through these one lesson at a time and test the terminology/chunking knowledge in the next lesson (usually a practical or CAB lesson).
At the completion of each teaching block, student create their own mind map.
At the end of the course are some revision activities and high quality mind maps.
This is the complete document for teaching the Edexcel GCSE ICT theory components.
This document last my classes for two years.
Highlight key literacy terms and assign scores to each
This is a help sheet and associated macro file to enable you to execute the actions on the Youtube video below. I utilise this tool in order to analyse the quality of subject specific terminology that students use within extended answers. The example supplied in the macro are from a graphics GCSE course, but you can simply supplement the words within the macor for ones to suit your question or subject area.
