Spreadsheets 5 - The Basics - IFs and Conditional Formatting - KS 3 Computing / ICT

(0)
This lesson carries on for the previous four lessons to teach the basics of spreadsheets. The focus here is on using IFs and conditional formatting to create self marking quiz. The extension is to lock down a worksheet and protect cells / use a password to restrict access to a sheet / workbook. The files also contain a teacher exemplar to use with the class and a step by step presentation for students to follow. Learning Objectives • Understand how to use the IF function to create a quiz • Know how to protect cells so that only the owner of the document can edit parts of it The aim of all my resources is to provide lessons / activities of good quality that will add value to your lessons / schemes of work. All activities and resources have been used in class and any errors will be fixed and resources updated as soon as I am aware of any errors. I have priced my resources at what I consider to be a reasonable cost based upon the amount of effort and work I have put into them but **all comments and suggestions are very welcome** and will be used to improve future resources. Spreadsheets Lesson 7 to 10 - Spreadsheet Battleships -Excel or Google Sheets -KS 3 Computing / ICT

(0)
This lesson puts together all the learning from the previous 6 lessons in the Spreadsheets Basics Series into a practical task to create a battleships game using a spreadsheet to make use of formatting techniques, Averages, Max, Min, IFs, Conditional Formatting. I normally use this with KS3. I have also include a student example which has a Star Wars theme rather than the traditional battleships theme. This is a great activity that involves some quite complex use of Spreadsheet principles so there is a teacher exemplar to show each stage and a video to show the teacher / students what to do if they get stuck. The extension tasks are very tricky and should stretch the most able students.

Sources of Finance Scenarios: What Factors need to be considered choosing finance A Level/IB Diploma

(1)
Ten Different scenarios to analyse by students to look at Sources of Finance: What Factors need to be considered. Can be used as a full class discussion / group and pairwork / pinned up around the room or given as homework. This resource is aimed at Year 12/13 so is perfect for A Level and IB Diploma. I have another resource with much simpler resources for GCSE students. Task: For each of the different business scenarios, decide what type of finance the business in question should use and why. There might be more than one appropriate source of finance - you could decide on a combination but make sure you explain why you have decided on those choices. The situations are varied and all of them based upon earlier aspects of the Business Studies Curriculum to reinforce prior learning.
