A year 7 introduction to reproduction. Students are asked to write any words they know associated with reproduction - this is a good point to discuss what is slang and which words will be acceptable to use in science. Students are then asked to come up with their own rules for how to behave in the lessons on reproduction. Students also came up with consequences for breaking these rules. Students then share any previous knowledge by completing the table. The lesson ends with an anonymous question-answering session.

The worksheet is designed to be filled out and discussed as a whole class activity, and then pupils use this to classify substances which are typically difficult to classify. E.g custard, jelly, sand etc.
A poster which can be printed for class display or given to students to stick into their books. Designed to prevent students from wanting to be spoon-fed answers, giving them an easy to remember path to follow in the face of difficulty.
