I am now a retired teacher having taught for over 40 years in the UK at secondary level. I wanted to share my love of Mathematics and teaching by providing a good set of resources which will more than cover all your needs for as many topics as I can and at good value for money. I am trying to cover many topics from foundation level GCSE up to grade 9 at higher level in a way that is interesting and relevant. I hope you like my style !

Over 30 Questions on the use of the discriminant and it’s graphical application - a topic which I always felt the textbooks have never done fully. Trigonometry Using Surds - With Answers

(0)
I wrote this set of worksheets to challenge grade 8 and 9 students. The aim was to bridge the gap between Trigonometry and the Manipulation Of Surds. The sheets have been well received by students. There are 2 questions over two pages: Q1 Straightforward trigonometry in a right angled triangle with angles of 45°, 30° and 60° - meant to be done without the aid of a calculator. 12 different questions here. Q2 Simplifying expressions involving Sine, Cosine and Tangent of 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90° 26 different questions here. Answers are included. I have also included a couple of bonus sheets which will help. Please leave feedback - particularly if you like them. - Thank You

Averages

This pdf consists of 10 questions on Mean, Mode and Median of discrete with a small range - frequency tables are covered in a seperate worksheet. The first question (with around 20 parts) is simply finding Mean, Mode and Median and I used this with year 7 and also used it to discuss RANGE. The second set of questions I tended to do in Year 8 or 9 but can be used for revision with lower ability groups - these questions explore the pupils understanding of Mean. Ideal for the introduction of Mean, Mode, Median and Range and also useful for a revision worksheet. Answers are included.

I wrote this as a homework sheet one year, aimed at foundation GCSE students of around grade 5 and less ability. Identities

Identities are new to the GCSE 9 - 1 syllabus for all boards So I wrote these questions to help in any classroom. You may give them for classwork, homework or just to discuss in groups. Some of the questions are really difficult - discussion only I think. Answers are included.

Inequalities on the number line

This PDF is a set of 22 questions where inequalities have been given on a number line and students must interpret the diagram. It is a really useful set of questions for Key Stage 3 or foundation GCSE but I have also used it as a starter for higher level GCSE Good fun - i think. Division Of Fractions
happymathematicianhappymathematician

Division Of Fractions

(0)
This is a PDF consisting of 52 questions on division of fractions. This PDF is written as 2 questions each with 26 parts, question 1 uses fractions only while question 2 uses mixed numbers. With these worksheets I used questions in one column as examples, the second column was then used for class/homework leaving extra questions for either revision or extra practice if necessary. We always felt that too many questions was better than insufficient. This worksheet is part of the suite which is sold as Fractions for KS3 which includes the answers. Any comments are welcome through our facebook page.

Tally Tables

This PDF has 3 questions on drawing up tally tables using 50, 60 or 100 pieces of data. I used to use this in year 10 with foundation level students so there are a couple of harder questions involved but these can be ignored if you wish to use this at KS2, or KS3. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.
Goal Mouth Number Line

Goal Mouth Number Line

(1)
Not a wonderful resource but some may find a use for it. Write two numbers in the circles and see if they can score a goal by identifying anything between those numbers. I used it for fractions but don’t forget decimals and negatives. Obviously try to miss the goalkeeper !!
