I am selling resources that I have used while working as an EYFS, Y1 and Y2 teacher and leader. I am also Forest School trained so have uploaded some of what I have used for Forest School too. :-)

I used this story mountain planning sheet with Y1 and Y2. :-)
It is editable so you can add more detail etc.
PowerPoint included to use on screen/link to a well known story.

I made this Spider Man phonics game to support some of the children in my class with certain sounds. The PDF attached is a game for the sounds ‘oo’ and 'ar’. I downloaded and used different fonts which you can see on the PDF version. However, this font may not be available on all laptops, so I have also attached an editable Word version of the game. The cliparts, letters and fonts can be changed easily to support different sounds.
A dice game for tricky and high frequency word reading and spelling practice. :-) There are 4 different ‘boards’ in the document with words from phase 2-5. The document can be easily edited and different words could be added using the ‘replace’ tool.
*Numeracy link - addition
*Scruffy is the name of our class pet :-) can be replaced to suit you
I used this newspaper report and worksheets when focussing on newspaper reports in literacy. Our theme was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The report has lots of words with ‘ly’ endings and this was something we needed to focus on as a class.
- Newspaper report
- Who, What, Where, Why, When? Worksheet
- Newspaper report write up
- Newspaper report planning sheet
I used these worksheets when focussing on the story ‘Dear Zoo’ in literacy. Lots of focus on the use of adjectives.
- Dear Zoo write up
- Describing the animals in Dear Zoo
- Changing an animal in Dear Zoo
An editable game/activity for phonics/reading practice.
This is saved on as a PowerPoint and can all be edited to suit the needs of the children it is being used with - eg: changing the picture clues and sounds.
:-)
Great as a transition activity and ‘end of year’ gift! - Can be edited to suit all primary year groups
I made this book for my class to complete during the last few weeks of reception and then take home as part of their leaving gift. It’s a fun way of noting how they feel about completing their first year of school, talking about transition and some good memories. Parents loved it when their children brought this home! It was also a great way of getting some more writing evidence.
Inside there are questions such as:
How did your family feel on your first day of school?
What would you like to learn in Year One?
What do you like doing best at school?
and lots more!
There are spaces for you to stick photos of the children onto and to add a school logo.
Please note - the TES preview sometimes looks a little different, take a look at the image preview that I have added for how it will look when you download (some borders have been cut out, but hopefully you get the idea! :-D)
I use this template for my ‘spellings of the week’ display which I put on a light box! Cut along the lines, laminate if you wish (works without) and slide into a standard sized light box.
Really effective and the children love it! :-)
I use this planning to support my daily ‘guided reading’ sessions for my reception class. I used this planning in Autumn Term 2, so I have focused on reading, communication and language and physical development objectives (taken from Development Matters). I split the objectives into three groups to suit my class, but the table can be edited to suit a different cohort. Objectives and ELGs can also be added throughout the year. I will also add some of my tricky word and spelling practise resources to my TES shop soon. :-)
Please note - the TES preview looks a little different, see my picture preview for how it will look when you download.
Phonics and Keyword Assessment Process and ‘Keyword Keyring’ Resources!
Brief Outline and Instructions Below - FULL Outline and Instructions Included In This Pack!
This year, we have tried out a new system to assess phonics and key words (tricky and high frequency) with our reception class. Alongside this, we have also introduced a new way for the children to learn their tricky and high frequency words using a Keyword Keyring and other resources. What we are doing may not fit your school/expectations exactly, but it is something that has worked really well for us so I thought I’d share it on TES as it can be edited to suit you and your class. :-)
We have printed an assessment booklet for each child in our class to track their confidence with graphemes, decodable words and tricky words within each phonics phase. We do lots of phonics/keyword practise at school, but have set up a new system to motivate the children to learn their high frequency, tricky and some decodable words at home too.
Using the resources in this pack, you can print, cut and laminate the words to create a display and a keyring!
I have also included sheets which I send home to children/parents as an ongoing ‘homework’. There is a sheet for each phonics phase which I print and laminate. Once the children know all of the words on that sheet, they get the next sheet along with signed certificate for completing the set that they were working on. We really celebrate when a phase is complete and the children and parents have responded really well to this!
When the children know ALL of the words on the Keyword Keyring, they are presented with a special certificate and keyring reward in assembly. Resources/shopping links that I used to create these are in this pack!
*(We try and use the assessment booklet every week – although this can sometimes be hard with 30 children and 1 Teacher and TA!)
I hope that this all makes sense - this is a very brief version as to what is included in the pack! The download includes instructions with pictures etc.
It may not be perfect, but it has worked SO well for us this year – I hope that it can work for you too. A lot of hard work went into making all of this and even more work is needed for the laminating and keyring making, but I honestly believe that it is worth it.
Thanks!
