Features a mix of reading/listening and speaking, and would be easy to use tasks as writing tasks for further consolidation. A double-sided worksheet (file makes two A5 double-sided sheets) revising family members, adverbs of frequency and adjectives describing personality. Sentence-builders demonstrate how to compare family members - ends with a fairly amusing opportunity to say things like 'my mum is funnier than your mum!'; And a double-sided lesson of sentence builders describing your own family. Both suitable for lower sets.

Because we all like to talk about what we WILL/WOULD/COULD/SHOULD do!! Great for GCSE classes. Clearly demonstrated using 'sentence-builders', which can also be used for revision, or to create longer pieces of writing.

A couple of help sheets and activities on the topic of the environment which revise the use of three different tenses. Based on Echo 3 Rot K4E4 Umweltschutz (pp.66-67). Included are: - helpsheet of sentence builders on present tense (ich-form); - helpsheet of sentence builders in three tenses, plus hints on how to use and extend them (NB the same verbs are used in all three tenses) (all in wir-form); - set of sentences to translate into German (differentiation is in the 'level' on which students attempt the task - details on sheet. I devised this for my year 9 beginners' class. They found it tricky - I think the challenge would be there for learners who have more years of German behind them.

Resources for a lesson with a lower set on protecting the environment and phrases with 'zu&'. Lots of room for fun (with phrases such as &';I refuse to take the bus!') and extension by coordinating sentences (&'...but I promise to protect the environment!&';). Includes Diamond 9 activity (with support for discussing in German), guess my sentence activity, battleships, and Os and Xs. (Another successful interview lesson!)

2 lessons: in lesson 1, students learn 9 different shops. This lesson is full of AfL as the students set their own targets for learning these phrases during the lesson. In lesson 2, students use these phrases in sentences to describe what you buy where. Again, lots of practice and AfL techniques with a thumbs-up/down quiz to finish. Great for year 8.

Three self-contained worksheets focusing on the most important vocabulary for the new Edexcel A Level German topics from Theme 3 (Immigration und die deutsche multikulturelle Gesellschaft): Die positive Auswirkung von Integration Die Herausforderungen von Immigration und Integration Die staatliche und soziale Reaktion zur Immigration Perfect for introducing the topics, as a quick lesson-starter, or as an independent/homework task. The same lists could be used to set a subsequent vocabulary test, and are an excellent starting point for more in-depth revision. Included in all worksheets is a carefully selected vocabulary list, followed by five exercises to aid learning of the vocabulary. The worksheets are included in editable .doc format, as well as an easily printable .pdf. Answers and ideas for further use of this vocabulary list are on the second page of each document. Lesson introducing rooms in the house, including a guessing-game for the starter, a match-up, a reading activity, battleships for speaking practice (handout version is already available on TES), a longer reading activity and an ongoing dictionary task as an extension activity. Successfully used as an interview lesson!

Reading activity (based on a Listening from Expo 3 Rouge) with comprehension activities; a grid to visually show the different tenses (useful for revision); a multiple-choice quiz on verb conjugations; a re-translation exercise to develop the skill of adapting; a final activity to build Level 7 sentences.

A lesson introducing the concept of verb conjugation to Year 7. They still remember conjugating 'spinnen&'! Plan is also included, as is a follow-up lesson.

Pupils have already created their own monsters and can describe their body parts. This lesson (could be 2 lessons) helps pupils to write their own poem comparing the monster's body parts to other objects!

Using the freely available SAMs and past papers for 2017 and 2018, I have created this comprehensive list of essay questions on the literary texts/films set by AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas/WJEC. Use the filters at the top of each column (click the little downward arrow) to show only questions for the texts you teach, and you can easily create a list of past paper questions to give to students. This makes it easy for you to set essay tasks, and when the time comes, for students to complete their own revision essays.
