Knowledge organisers (double sided) outlining the key content and devices in each poem, along with an explanation of the techniques used. Can be used as a foundation for teaching or given to students who have missed poems and quickly need to plug the gaps with a few quality ideas rather than masses of ‘fluff’. All ideas in the knowledge organisers are my own, gathered over the years through teaching and discussions. I do not claim that these are the ‘right’ answer because that is the joy of this subject- there is more than one interpretation! For poems such as ‘Tissue’ though, I have used my own interpretation of the poem as an anchor to help build students’ understanding around a concept first. Suitable for all sets and easily adapted to pitch at a higher/ lower ability.
