Welcome to Lance’s Learning Lab, where we explore the exciting world of punctuation! In this worksheet designed for Year 2 children, we will focus on mastering the use of punctuation marks for proper nouns. Through this interactive exercise, children will not only reinforce their understanding of proper nouns but also sharpen their punctuation abilities. By paying attention to the details of each sentence, they’ll learn when and where to place capital letters correctly.

I found the idea from another member on TES and adapted it to suit my class. The children enjoyed it and by the end of the lesson, and for weeks after, could tell me the components in blood and their functions.

A worksheet which is double sided and has common spellings that are often misspelt by children! The children have to write the correct spelling beside it. These are high frequency words that children should be able to spell but often get caught out with.

Activity for children to do on whiteboards for a starter or plenary of a lesson. Useful for year 5 and 6. Includes the answers so children can mark instantly.

The questions are either to do with SPAG or maths. It covers lots of different objectives and is good for revision on the lead up to SATs.

Smart notebook activity - getting the children to write a short adventure story featuring a mysterious cave. The success criteria is largely based for year 6 children but could be edited for other year groups.

A fun activity for children to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000. Differentiated for different abilities. Laminate and enjoy!

Children learn how to divide by 2, 4, 5 and 10 and multiply by 2, 4, 5 and 10 plus a little bit extra on multiplying by 8 and 9. There is also a starter worksheet for children to re-cap on the mental methods of dividing. Ideal for year 5.

A lesson for children to write their own blog about anti bullying. Also comes with some template sheets that the children can copy up their neat version onto. Could actually get the children to type up and put on a real blog. The smart notebook includes links to videos the children can watch about bullying. The lesson looks at writing informally about a topical issue.

This worksheet is ideal for extra revision before KS2 reading SATs. The questions are about a short passage from a book called 'Evil Star'. The worksheet starts off with a simple skimming and scanning activity and then moves onto literal, inferential and finally evaluative questions, complete with a mark scheme.

Laminate and get children to work in pairs - they can write their different combinations to the calculations they create and answers on a whiteboard. Good practise for children struggling with multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000.
