The four files listed contain 4 different questions to assess learning of the fundamentals of Structure and Bonding. They are set up to be printed on 21 labels per page sticky label sheets. These can be used in conjunction with diagnostic homework - for example, if students have incorrectly answered a question on ionic or covalent bonding, these can be used to supplement and reinforce any corrections to be made upon student feedback. Bonding 1 looks at basic bonding questions for ammonia and Bonding 2 does the same for lithium fluoride. Bonding 3 asks students to draw the electrons arrangements for the atom and then the ion formed, working out the charges the ions end up with. Bonding 4 requires students to explain and describe the type of bonding in different substances.

This resources is a whole lesson on identifying the oxidation products of alcohols from primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols. It comprises of a lesson PowerPoint which guides you through the lesson from identifying primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols on the starter worksheet and onto the oxidation and reduction card match activity for the key oxidation, reduction, oxidising agent and reducing agent definitions. Another activity includes identifying the oxidation products by a card matching activity where students use the Task 3 oxidation laminated sheets to match the oxidation aldehyde, ketone and carboxylic acid patterns cards. A student's note sheet is also provided which students can fill in using the information on the PowerPoint. The final activity of writing oxidation equations for primary and secondary alcohols is solely on the PowerPoint and includes an answer slide.
