Learners will brainstorm descriptions of the location and scene of Dracula’s mysterious and eerie castle. They then write a detailed account using the information they have gathered.

Pupils should make notes on the key facts given in the video clip. They will then produce their own news reader's script to break the news to the British public using the model text as an example.

A range of ideas for lessons based on building a description of a city and/or countryside setting in WW2. The descriptions could be used as openers in a story based around evacuees who were sent to live in a rural location. This is a tried and tested classroom resource.
